Well, not a lot of progress has been made since the last post - I have been busy riding and thoroughly enjoying my bike :) I have received some very positive feedback from people, mostly ones I know, but it's still nice to get compliments.
The last two weeks I have been pretty much bed/couch bound while I recover from an operation, which has meant a lot of time sitting, googling and messing around on the tablet PC thinking of things I can do to my bike. There's already a list as long as my arm including making a passenger mount, gear rack mount, sissy bar etc etc....but I decided that I really want this bike to stand out - I want it to have something that your average bike on the road doesn't have...so I've had a few ideas and the last couple of days I've had a bit of energy and been able to free myself from the aforementioned couch, so here's a bit of a look at what's been happening...
- Front fender laced
- Peg springs replaced with barrel springs. Also trialed a method for hard mounting the seat in place...almost there, but needs some more work. Will see how the barrel springs go for now!
- Under seat 'pan' laced. I plan to carry this paint onto the rear fender in between the gold lines (the 'H' pattern). Still deciding on how to paint the headlight, but that's on the list too!
- Sissy bar made and mounting tabs welded on - shown here being test fitted and marking location of mounting point for fender and indicators. Colour to be decided...probably black
Still can't decide if I want to replace (with a peanut tank) or not - I LOVE the look, but I really enjoy the fact it currently holds 15 litres, and the peanut would drop it down to about 9 litres....hmmm.
Lots more to come, but that will do for this post :)

Greetings from the USA. Fantastic Pictures. I am going to copy your seat this weekend!
ReplyDeleteAny recent photos? Or have the baby kept you too busy?
Have you tackled the peanut tank? That is the one thing I will be doing for sure.
Hi Greg,
DeleteGlad my work has inspired you! Not a lot of work since the last post, but will post up some more info today!
I never got around to doing the tank - I liked having 15 litres too much to change it!
Looks great, do you still tinker?
ReplyDeleteThanks Heath,
DeleteI don't do much these days, other than enjoy riding it. I did make some updates to the rear fender paint work not too long ago along with a few smaller and simpler things. I might get around to posting that stuff this weekend!
Thanks for your interest - it's great to see how many visits this page still gets :)
